Also, many shade fabrics are specially treated to repel dust and dirt. The use of a hair dryer set on a cool low setting is an option to repel visible dust periodically.
Spot clean shades or blinds with a soft clean cloth or sponge moistened with lukewarm water. Add a mild cleaning agent such as dishwashing liquid, but sparingly. Blot gently to avoid creasing or damaging the fabric. Rubbing can damage fabrics. Always test in a small area first that is least noticeable.

This type of cleaning is recommended by Hunter Douglas for any soft, fabric based products including, Silhouette® Window Shadings, Luminette® Privacy Sheers, Vignette® Modern Roman Shades, Duette® Honeycomb Shades and Designer Studio Roman Shades. It can also be used for soft window treatments such as fabric folding shades, sheers, drapery, drapery valences and upholstered furniture.
We clean window fashions on the windows so removal is not necessary. You need not be without something on the windows for days or weeks until they are ready. There is no added expense incurred to remove window fashions and reinstall them.
